How to report an error and how published corrections are handled.

Report an error

Send the page URL, the statement in question and a supporting source to redaction@lequebecvote.ca.

Review

We check the claim against primary sources and update the page when the evidence warrants it.

Transparency

Material editorial corrections are documented; routine typographical fixes may be made silently.

  1. · Comparison tool

    Linked promises: seven unrelated links removed, one missing link restored

    Error
    On the comparison tool, seven promise-to-issue links had nothing to do with the promise’s content: a tax measure for seniors (CAQ) shown under education, health and childcare; an investment in SÉPAQ parks (CAQ) under climate adaptation; two general economic measures from the PCQ (corporate tax, regulatory burden) under US tariffs; the redevelopment of the Fleur-de-Lys area (PLQ) under transport. Conversely, the PLQ’s promise to widen Highway 50 in the Outaouais did not appear under transport, which it belongs to.
    Correction made
    The seven links were removed and the missing link was restored. No promise was deleted or changed, and each promise’s main issue is unchanged. All links were reviewed one by one against the text of each promise; only those unrelated to the issue were removed, and indirect but defensible links were kept.
    Reason
    A promise shown under the wrong issue can read as the party’s position on that issue. Every promise linked to a cell must genuinely concern that cell’s issue.

  2. · Comparison tool

    Comparison sources: real titles, dates and direct links

    Error
    All 49 sources attached to comparison positions carried a generic label (“Source V3 —” followed by the party name), with neither the document title nor its date. About ten Parti Québécois links went through an intermediate address that only worked because of a redirect.
    Correction made
    Each source now shows the document’s real title (press release, platform, official page) and, for dated press releases or articles, its publication date. Redirected links now point straight to the official address. No position or source was added or removed.
    Reason
    Readers should be able to tell which document supports a position without opening every link.

  3. · Comparison tool, Issue pages

    Comparison tool: all 105 cells now show an explicit status

    Error
    Before this correction, 37 of the tool’s 105 cells (21 issues × 5 parties, or 35.2%) showed no position, under a single message — “No sufficiently documented position for now” — that did not distinguish research not yet finished, research finished without a verifiable public position, and a position under review. A research gap could therefore read as the party having no position.
    Correction made
    All 105 cells now show an explicit status: 91 documented positions (with verification date and sources attached to the position), 3 positions under review and 11 completed searches that found no sufficiently precise public position. The 68 positions already displayed were also re-verified: 49 kept, 16 rewritten and 3 placed under review. Weak sources (home pages, broken links, secondary sources) were replaced, wherever possible, with primary documents (platforms, press releases or official pages).
    Reason
    An external audit made public on September 17, 2026 pointed to the share of missing or ambiguous cells. An empty search result must never be presented as the party having no position.

  4. · Comparison — Secularism, Issue — Secularism

    Secularism: the CAQ position (government record) is now shown

    Error
    The CAQ cell on the “Secularism, accommodations and living together” issue was empty, even though the issue page itself explained that the secularism framework had been strengthened in 2025 and 2026. The CAQ’s absence left that timeline without clear attribution.
    Correction made
    The cell now shows the government record, with its timeline: Act respecting the laicity of the State adopted in 2019, application expanded in 2025 and 2026 (education, subsidized childcare, francization, youth protection, certain Santé Québec employees). This is the outgoing government’s record, presented as such, not a 2026 promise. The source is the Government of Québec’s official page. The Parti libéral du Québec’s position on this issue remains under review, for lack of a precise primary source.
    Reason
    Attributing the history of a legal framework correctly requires every party involved to be presented with the same rigour, without any recommendation.
